1. Preparation of equipment and materials:

2. Preparation of oil cable:

3. Preparing the heat-shrinkable sleeve:

   • Check that the heat shrink sleeve meets the required specifications and dimensions of the oil cable.
   • Install all necessary components on the coupling, such as power contacts, shields and heat shrink tubing.

4. Installing the coupling on the cable:

   • Open the heat shrink tubing on the coupling and position it on one end of the oil cable.
   • Install the sleeve onto the cable so that the contacts are correctly aligned with the cable conductors.
   • Make sure that the heat shrink tubing completely covers the connection between the sleeve and the cable.

5. Heat shrink:

   • Use a heat shrink oven or heat gun to heat the shrink tubing. Ensure that the heat shrink temperature and time are in accordance with the coupling manufacturer's specifications.
   • When heat shrink tubing is heated, it shrinks and forms a tight connection between the sleeve and the cable, providing electrical insulation.

6. Connection protection:

   • Secure the heat shrink sleeve and cable with electrical tape to provide additional protection and prevent movement or damage to the connection.

7. Inspection and marking:

   • Once installation is complete, check the connection to ensure it is properly installed and insulated.
   • Mark the coupling and cable with appropriate markers or labels for identification and ease of maintenance.

When installing a cable heat-shrinkable sleeve on a 10 kV oil cable, it is important to follow the instructions of the sleeve manufacturer and observe electrical safety, especially when working with high-voltage electrical conductors.
